Jöölai, ft The Curated Drop: The Growth & Grind Report

Character is not just given, it’s built.

The month started off strong and finished off stronger. I spent quality time in nature, celebrated my sister’s 30th birthday, discovered a cute new coffee shop, completed my first cyclical piece on my hand pan, finished off my Spanish class with an A, and was brave enough to make a change I feel God has been inching me towards for quite some time now, not to mention all of these things were done in good company.

There were many things I was afraid to do and still can’t believe I’ve done. I performed with Pam in front of a group of ladies who after gave me so much love and support to keep going. It felt really nice to show people something that gives me so much joy and in turn, watch them experience that joy too.

I almost dropped my Spanish class because I was afraid — and get this — to talk to my professor… in Spanish. I was minutes away from taking my final oral exam and although I would definitely say my fear was valid because stage fright is a very real thing, I knew not following through and finishing the class would be an even scarier outcome.

I learned that giving life your best shot is significantly better than choosing to not live life at all and that’s become my newest outlook and one I’ll keep for years to come.

And at the moment, I don’t quite know the right words to explain what I’m going through, only that I trust God to make it all make sense in the months to come. I know that a lot can change overnight but sometimes meaning can escape our grasp until the time is right and up until now, every trust fall I have entrusted God with, He has never disappointed me… even when my physical body was left on the floor.

I’ve gotten to a point in my life where I don’t have to understand everything upfront to know all things are made good by Him.

So, for now, I’ll find comfort in the discomfort and live life by the day.

What about you? What’s your best shot?

Think about it.

Cheers,
B.
